About us
Plantando Consciência is a multidisciplinary non-profit organization dedicated to ecodelic literacy and research. We investigate non-ordinary states of consciousness produced by these substances, and advocate for this Gaian technology as a reliable source of healing and learning.
In order to do so, our work approaches many disciplines such as neurosciences, psychiatry, psychology, biology, physics, pharmacology, religion, anthropology and history. Our goal is to understand and legitimate the use of these tools in the proper context of set and setting, as well as their potential for medical and therapeutic use, both of which can ensure the flourishing of the new paradigm that is already underway.
Even though our field of action is vast, it’s interconnected. We are pioneering scientific research with the aforementioned substances in Brazil, but we also conduct research with other methods for achieving holotropic states; run historical and cultural investigation; promote deep ecology; organize events and participate in activism for drug policy reform.
Acting informally since March of 2009 as a website, blog and twitter, Plantando Consciência was officialized as a non-profit in late 2011. We have members dedicated voluntarily to this organization, and donations are not only welcomed but much needed, so we can keep on pursuing this demanding and long-term task, which consists – by quoting the language of gardening – in preparing the soil of consciousness for the seeding of a new paradigm.
